Dogs and cats make me laugh and smile. I just love their energy, and kookiness. As a photographer and an animal lover I want to capture that big personality through bright, fun and happy photos.
I take the time to get to know you and your furry friend to help you decide what would be best for the breed. Like kids, animals often have the attention span of a gnat. So I work fast but I am also patient. I work with your pet using positive reinforcement letting them lead the way so I can capture that funny smile, or perpetual gaze. I only book one session per day so my photo sessions are not rushed.
FAQ’S
How long is a session? Expect a session to last 1-3 hours. I never rush a photo session and work with your pets comfort level and pace.
What happens if it rains? A drizzle, no problem. A rain of biblical proportions…let’s re-book or go inside. Let’s make that decision together. 🙂
My dog doesn’t sit still. My cat is very shy. Doest this sound like your pet? No worries. I never rush a photo session and I use positive reinforcement to bring out the best in your pet. Over the years I’ve learned to read an animals body language behaviour and adjust accordingly. Sometimes though the best photos come from your pets unique personality and those quirky moments!
What should I bring? If your dog doesn’t have good recall outside please bring a leash as I can photoshop it out. A leash or a lead is preferable over a harness. Also, a brush to help keep their fur silky smooth unless of course you are going for an edgy, rough and tumble type of look.
Where do we take the photos? Photo sessions can take place outdoors, in your house or yard. I have a mobile studio so I can shoot anywhere. Choosing the right location is key to putting your pet at ease to let their character shine.
Why should I choose a professional photographer?
There are several reasons. Ultimately though, it’s a personal choice. But think of it this way: Pets are cherished family members and sadly, they are with us for a much shorter time than we would like. Custom photography provides a personalized experience and gives you keepsakes of special moments that will last a lifetime. A print or a coffee table book can be easily seen, and shared and are not lost in the deep realms of our phones or computers.
Can you take photos of my other pets? Yes. I will accept one other family pet from the same household. Must be in the same photo session. Please inquire pricing for additional pets.
Do you photograph families with their pets? Yes. However, keep in mind that my focus will be on your pets and their special relationship with you. If you are looking for a family photographer that will photograph pets in a family portrait session, I can recommend a few for you.
Can I share my photos on social media? Yes. Please do! We want you to share. The greatest compliment you can give is you proudly showing off your photos to your friends and a referral. All I ask is that you credit Cool Cat Photography when sharing photos online.
ALL SESSIONS INCLUDE:
- A professional portrait session, from a Nationally Accreditated Photographer, indoors, outdoors, or both with pets from your household within the Great Vancouver Area (travel fees apply outside the GVA)
- An in-person consultation to answer questions, explain details and plan a location
- An on-line secure private album to view photos
- 10 high-resolution edited images ready for you to print
- Up to 2 pets from the same household. Additonal pets are $50.00 each.
SESSION FEE
Photo Session: $375.00
The full session fee is paid at the time of booking. Choose your 10 favourite images and download them directly to your device. You’re free to print them where you would like but please keep in mind most consumer print labs do not cater to higher end products directly to consumers. If you are interested in a museum-quality print that will last a lifetime please consider printing them through me as I use professional printers with archival inks and fine art papers. I offer wall art, albums, desktop collections – please inquire for pricing.
